So Bruce Mclean, a well known Scottish performance artist graced the art school this week to perform "a cut, a scratch, a score" with some fellow artists. It was an installation project and I still am not sure i quite understand it all. I went to the "salons" all week, which were basically the artists discussing topics and meanings with the audience. Being in the ephemeral module, I thought it would be a nice bonus. I tried to understand it but I can't translate. It was a nice week long of performance. On wednesday in the city center of Dundee the artists demonstrated a score of musical and non-expectational proportions. basically the artists composed a set which consisted of various percussion, opera singing and noise for the public to interpret and enjoy.
On Friday they did their final performance. There was a choir, lots of cut outs, amazing drums, harmonies and more stuff i don't understand, but very much enjoyed.
here is some footage!
Starting August 25th to late December I will be studying abroad in Dundee, Scotland. I'm a senior in the Art Education Program at the University of South Carolina and while I still had the credits, wanted to break away from my routine life! With the help of my professors, friends, family and the Study Abroad office, Gilman & SC Global Scholarships, I am able to make this deal real! Please follow me on my adventure!

London Stizzle
My hero, the elephant man, or Joseph Merrick, stayed at the Royal London Hospital. I didn't get there in time to tour the museum but I witnessed an old man being carried away and talked to the receptionist.

Frieze Art Fair
here are a few shots from within Regent's Park where the fair took place. a number of artists had their work outside on the park grounds.
Below is a Kiki Smith piece called "Alice"
It's ironic because I was just told about Kiki Smith, read a book about her the night before the fair and then saw this beaut!
Pretty wild right?

Just a few of my favorites from the day. I didn't cover the entire exhibit because it was intensely huge but what I covered, was amazing!!!
